Thanks to Fist in the Air you can stream the New Album by Wiz Khalifa. The new Album is available for pre-order on itunes now and will hit stores December 4th. After the last Wiz Khalifa album I had pretty much written him off. I had been a fan of his for quite a while and had been really disappointed as to the direction  he had gone.

I know that an artist has to evolve and change and that what he puts out as a studio album will always pale in comparison to a mixtape where he has the creative freedom to do what he wants. I’m excited to say while there are still those tracks that are meant for radio play there is still substance to this album.

Wiz Khalifa has a following and for anyone in the music industry today that is key. The over all sound of this album is amazing and I attribute that to the producers Pharrell Williams, Drumma Boy and Sledren. Each track is so artfully produced that even the more questionable songs sound good.

I miss the old Wiz Khalifa and with this album Its clear I have to get over that. He’s changed I guess all I can do is embrace whats left of him.

Ludacris – Rest Of My Life ft. Usher & David Guetta

I got a tip last week that the new Ludacris album “Ludaversal” is shaping up to be a big album with some really great music. The single released today features Usher and David Guetta. This wasn’t what I was expecting to hear from Ludacris and it leaves me to wonder what the rest of his album sounds like. The other single he released a month of so ago still had that traditional Ludacris feeling. The song featured Kelly Rowland and it had that slow vibe with the sexy lyricism that always does well for Ludacris think “lovers and friends”.

These two singles couldn’t be further from reach other musically. The single released today is clearly a David Guetta song heavy in the electronic dance music field. I like it despite the fact it’s not what I’m used to. It does however make me wonder what is to come from the album as a whole. The original release date for “Ludaversal” was moved from May to September and now promises to be a first quarter release in January of 2013.

The first to singles, seemingly polar opposites, are good but it leaves me questioning the direction. I’ve been a Ludacris fan from the beginning and have enjoyed all of his releases so I’m hoping this one doesn’t disappoint.

Ludacris is finishing the filming of “Fast 6” and from his twitter feed it looks like that is shaping up to be a great movie which I am also excited about!
