UZ “I Got This” Feat. Trae Tha Truth, Problem, and Trinidad James (Official Video)

AM Only ShowcaseThis proves that SXSW has so much to offer that you can’t help but miss stuff. This is the music video for UZ “I Got This” filmed during SXSW back in March. I was lucky enough to catch the UZ DJ set at La Zona Rosa during south by and the set was amazing as was the surprise appearance of Trae Tha Truth to sing his verse for “I Got This”. It all makes sense now that I’ve discovered that those scenes were taped for the music video Trae Tha Truth released today. The video shows the group working its way through the SXSW crowds on foot and in pedicabs the main method of transportation during the festival.

I’m glad that I got to be a part of this even if it is after the fact. UZ has mystified fans for quite a while because his true identity hasn’t ever been revealed. There is always a great amount of speculation over who this trap producer is. I loved this song from the moment I heard it and now the video has a special place in my heart as well! I’m definitely looking forward to SXSW in 2014! I’ve posted the video for “I Got This” below. As always I would love to hear from you so feel free to comment below.

The Naked and Famous: Austin, Texas recap

Stubbs AustinThe Naked and Famous played Stubbs last Wednesday in Austin, Texas. The show was sold out and despite the hot muggy weather it turned out to be a great evening! They brought along The Colourist for opening support. The Colourist really opened the show with quite a bang. They played the songs from their EP Little Games. I’m looking forward to the release of their full length album,

I have been listening to The Naked and Famous for a while and missed out seeing them the last time they came to Austin. They played the perfect mix of new and old material. They kept the audience entertained and the production and sound were amazing! I saw today the Imagine Dragons announced their North American tour dates and listed the Naked and Famous as tour support. They will make a stop in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center this February.

Wale “Simple Man” Official Video

Wale released his video for “Simple Man” off the album The Gifted. It features cameos from Drake and J Cole. Wale is currently on tour with J Cole and will be visiting Austin, Texas next week. The show is at Austin Music Hall and tickets are still available. I’ve seen both in concert and it promises to be a phenomenal show as always!

Drake: “Hold On We’re Going Home” Official Video

If you don’t know that Drake released a new album today then all I can say is that you have been living under a rock where no music is ever played. Nothing Was The Same (NWTS) leaked a week ago this past sunday and no one has been able to talk about anything else since. The common Joke on twitter was that if you got a call out of the blue from an EX it probably was because they were listening to NWTS.

The leak happened just as everyone expected there is really no controlling it after it gets sent to be pressed. Some call it a classic some don’t like it but for the most part it has grabbed the attention of a lot of people.

I’ve heard more time with it and there are a few songs that stick out more than others. I love the Ellie Goulding Sample on “Pound Cake/ Paris Morton Music” that features Jay-Z.
The other song that I really enjoy listening to is “Too Much” I’m from Texas and for him to shout out H-Town and what it meant to his career is something really special.

Drake released the Official Video to Hold On We’re Coming Home” and it fits perfect with the official release of NWTS.

Let me know what you think about the video!

Zedd “Stay the Night” Official Video

Zedd released the official video for “Stay the Night” feat. Hayley Williams. at first a short teaser of the song was released a few weeks ago followed by the official release of the song.  It has been a song that has been hyped up on twitter following the success that Zedd had with the single “Clarity” earlier this year. Zedd is currently on his North American Moments of Clarity tour. It mad a stop here in Austin , Texas last Wednesday. I was lucky enough to be in attendance and really enjoyed the entire show, He brought along Alex Metric and Oliver for support and they delivered amazing sets! Austin Music Hall was packed with people that danced away the entire night.

Stay the night was one of the songs I was looking forward to hearing and it blew me away. I saw Zedd during SXSW 2013 and thought about skipping out last week but believe me when I say this that would have been a huge mistake. There wasn’t anything better that seeing him on tour and experiencing the full effect of his show.  I hope you enjoy the video for “Stay the Night” and if you get a chance see him live you’ll be so glad you did.

Feel free to comment and tell me what you think or make a suggestion of something I should be listening to. Follow me on twitter if you’re interested in what I’m listening to on a daily basis!

Drake: “Nothing Was the Same” Full Album LEAK

Drake Nothing Was the SameWhile watching the Seattle Seahawks kill the San Francisco 49’s I witnessed twitter turn into a frenzy over theleak of Drake’s Nothing was the Same (click here). The album that was originally slated for a September 17th release has been pushed to September 24th to allow for Drake to make some finishing touches. Well as with most hotly anticipated releases now days it leaked  on the internet and spread like wildfire throughout twitter. My timeline was flooded with the link and the full stream so of course I had to listen.

Everyone has their opinion on what their favorite song is and I feel like I haven’t spent enough time with it to really state an opinion either way. What I do know is the the album once released next week will make it into my music library. I have been a long time fan of Drake and have every mixtape and studio release that’s come out. This is exactly what you expect from Drake.  Stream the album here

B.o.B: HeadBand ft. 2 Chainz (official Video)

This is the new video from B.o.B for the single
HeadBand that will be on his upcoming album Underground Luxury. The song accompanied a contest that called on fans to submit their best twerk videos. I’m not a huge two chains fan but he is featured ion this song.

This is not the style of which I’m accustomed to hearing from B.o.B but it’s clearly meant to be a summer song that is light and fun. I’m interested as always to hear anything new from B.o.B. His studio albums have always had a different feel than what he releases through his mixtapes.

According to twitter and B.o.B himself the new album will be released some time this summer but it has no official release date.
